Every Tuesday, the off-limits mountain man comes into my bakery and pretends to read the newspaper. Ten months of stolen glances and cherry pie, and we’re both done pretending.

As the middle, least-likely-to-make-waves Baker sister running our Gimme Some Sugar bakery, I’ve learned to ignore the whispers that have shadowed my family for years. But there’s one man I can’t ignore—Royce Tanner, the rugged ex-military mountain man who appears every week like clockwork.
